On-Demand Tutorials

Want our same great content and education on YOUR schedule? Look no further!

Our on-demand tutorials offer all the high-quality, easy-to-understand statistics information and training you’ve come to expect from our live workshops, but in a shorter format and with the flexibility of accessing the full course at any time.

These courses tend to be more targeted in content and shorter in duration than our live workshops. This format allows you to dive in and further your statistical knowledge, even when you’re tight on time.

And because all tutorial content is already queued up and waiting, you can get started immediately.

“Really helpful for me was the option to go through all the materials at the time that worked best for me and to access and go through the same material over and over again if needed.”

Danijela Gasevic, Simon Fraser University
On-Demand Tutorial Participant, Calculating Power and Sample Size

How Do On-Demand Tutorials Work?

All our on-demand tutorials and accompanying materials are already available for you to access on your private tutorial website. Log in at any time from any internet-enabled computer, phone, or tablet… all from your own home or office.

In the tutorial videos, the instructor will present concepts and explain the meaning of the techniques, then demonstrate how to implement those techniques.

Every On-Demand Tutorial from The Analysis Factor Includes:

  • A set of streaming training videos.

On-demand tutorials typically include between 4-6 hours of instruction broken into several modules. Watch (and re-watch) these videos on YOUR schedule, as many times as you like, at the speed you desire.

These videos explain the statistical principles and steps as well as step-by-step demonstrations of how to apply those concepts to a specific statistical software.

  • Supplemental PDF handouts.

You’ll have access to the presentation slides, and additional resources such as handy checklists, worksheets, and more. You can download, print out, and take notes as you follow along.

  • A place to submit written questions.

Got a question as you’re reviewing the video recording or your notes? Just submit a question in the tutorial website. We’ll answer it there.

  • Bonus videos.

To enhance your understanding, many tutorials include bonus webinar videos.

  • Access to all your tutorial materials and resources for ONE FULL YEAR.

That means you can re-watch sessions and ask additional questions any time during that 12-month period.

*Please refer to each tutorial’s individual registration page for a detailed list of bonus resources, instructor information, prerequisites, and more.

“You made the whole venture less intimidating… Being able to go over the recording a few times is also great.”

In this 4-hour online tutorial, we will investigate each of the assumptions of linear models so they make sense. You’ll see why they really aren’t just a list of arbitrary rules.

Then we’ll show you how to check each assumption using plots, rules of thumbs, and tests, including discussing which tests are too sensitive, and when and how to tell if a plot is “close enough.”

Finally, we’ll have a detailed discussion of your options for dealing with any problems that do arise.

In this 5-hour online tutorial, we’ll start with a review of regression models with continuous predictors, then we’ll look at how all the terms fit together in one big model, and how to break the model apart to understand each term.

By the end of the tutorial, you’ll understand linear regression coefficients for all types of predictor variables. You’ll know how to set up your models so that later interpretation is much easier. And when you do go on to learn multilevel models, logistic, Poisson, or any other kind of regression, you can focus on the unique challenges of that type of modeling rather than getting stuck on the fundamentals.

This 7-hour online tutorial is a great introduction for anyone learning statistics in SPSS for the first time, or for SPSS users who have relied upon menus but want to learn the syntax.

By the end of the tutorial, you’ll have a strong foundation for doing statistical analysis with SPSS, including working with data sets, defining and recoding variables, and running univariate and bivariate statistics and graphs.

In this 3-hour online tutorial, you’ll improve your understanding of the General Linear Model and how Regression and ANCOVAs fit into that overall framework.

By the end of the tutorial, you’ll understand the ins and outs of SPSS’s General Linear Model and Linear Regression procedures. You’ll have a much better understanding of how SPSS handles linear models, as well as the defaults and when to change them, and which options are appropriate for which analyses.

In this 4-hour online tutorial, we’ll start at the beginning: With a review of what power means and how it relates to statistical tests, effect sizes, standard deviations, and sample size.

You’ll learn how to calculate simple sample estimates using three different specialized software programs.

You’ll be prepared to undertake your own power and sample size calculations with confidence.

By the end of the tutorial, students you’ll understand the theory and logic behind power and sample sizes, and be able to confidently undertake the calculations so you can get started on your research project.
